APEC Presentation 2012
The Applied Electronics Conference and Exposition (APEC) is the premier event in Applied Power Electronics, it focuses on the practical and applied aspects of the power electronics business. The APEC program addresses a broad range of topics in the use, design, manufacture and marketing of all kinds of power electronics equipment. The combination of high quality Professional Education Seminars, a full program of refereed papers and an overflowing Exhibit Hall consistently provides an invaluable education each year.

APEC 2012 was held in Orlando, Florida during 5th to 9th February. It continues the long-standing tradition of addressing issues of immediate and long-term interest to the practicing power electronics engineer. The presentation outlined the current renewable energy trends and how renewable energy applications have increased the performance requirements for IGBTs. After which it listed the advantages of Plug & Play Drivers for IGBT such as improved manufacturability, lowered inductance and thus better overall performance and efficiency of the IGBTs. At the end, it listed some of the challenges that emerged in designing the Plug & Play Driver for IGBTs.

APEC 2013 will be held in Long Beach, California from 17th to 23rd March.
